Our methods
Offsite manufacturing (OSM)
Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) are those which provide an efficient product management process to ensure more products of better quality in less time. It has been defined in various ways: pre-fabrication, offsite production and offsite manufacturing (OSM). But while all OSM is MMC not all MMC is OSM. It can be classified in various ways and may involve key services (e.g.) plumbing, key items (e.g. foundations), inner shell (walls etc), external walls, or any combination of these elements. It can also be classified by material (timber, steel, concrete and masonry).
STREIF building technology
STREIF’s building methods involve closed timber panels, which are manufactured in a carefully controlled factory environment. The structural panels include lining materials, which would allow the house to breathe, thermal and acoustic insulation, all windows and your choice of front door. Pre-installed electrical ducting and waste & water pipes can also be built-in if specified. All our homes exceed the current Part L Building Regulation requirements and have the quality certificate DIN EN ISO 9001; our standard wall has a U-value of 0.17W/m2 x K.
The process is faster, safer and more efficient than site-based construction thereby substantially reducing overall development costs and time. The design of the system also offers complete flexibility in both appearance and layout to meet any individual requirements.
Zurich Building Insurance and Local Authority Building Control (LABC) New Home Warranty are available for our building system.
Timber panel construction
Timber is an environmentally friendly, renewable resource; it combines strength with versatility and is an excellent natural insulator. Timber panel buildings offer better levels of acoustic and thermal insulation, making them more energy efficient and comfortable to live and work in.
STREIF’s closed timber panel construction is designed to have 70% of the house produced in the factory – quality and precision are set out to the highest standards! Our experienced German team of building specialists will then erect the superstructure onsite – not only in one or two days but accurate to the millimetre.
